This versatile product helps prevent discoloration of pool water by effectively sequestering iron, calcium, manganese, copper, and other metals and minerals that may be present in the water supply. As an excellent general-purpose sequestrant, it safeguards plumbing and pool walls from the detrimental effects of rust, staining, and scale buildup.

For initial pool filling, if iron or other metallic contaminants are suspected, add one quart of this product for every 10,000 gallons of pool water. Ensure the addition is made during the filling process and before introducing chlorine. To correct an existing colored water issue caused by mineral presence, first close the pool to swimmers and maintain the filter pump operation. Discontinue chlorination and allow the chlorine level to drop to zero. Then, lower the pool water's pH to 6.8 using pH Lower, which will help re-dissolve the metallic impurities. Next, add one quart of this product per 10,000 gallons of water and allow the pool to circulate overnight or until the water clarity is restored. Afterward, adjust the pH back to the recommended range of 7.2-7.8 using pH Rise, resume normal chlorination, and reopen the pool for swimming when the chlorine residual is between 1.0-3.0 ppm.

To compensate for any loss of this product due to backwashing or splash-out, add one quart per 20,000 gallons of pool water on a monthly basis. This product effectively removes and prevents the accumulation of various metals, including calcium, cobalt, copper, iron, lead, manganese, nickel, and silver.
