This versatile product helps prevent discoloration of pool water by effectively sequestering a range of metals and minerals that may be present in the water supply, including iron, calcium, manganese, copper, and others. As an excellent general-purpose sequestrant, it protects plumbing and pool walls from the damaging effects of rust, stains, and scale.

For the initial filling of the pool, if iron or other metallic contaminants are suspected, add one quart of the product for every 10,000 gallons of pool water. Introduce the product while the pool is being filled and before adding chlorine.

To address an existing colored water issue caused by the presence of minerals in the pool water, first close the pool to swimmers and let the filter pump continue running. Stop chlorinating the pool and allow the chlorine level to drop to zero. Then, lower the pool water's pH to 6.8 using pH Lower, which will help re-dissolve the metallic impurities. Add one quart of the product per 10,000 gallons of water and let the pool water circulate overnight or until it clears. Afterward, readjust the pH to the recommended range of 7.2-7.8 using pH Rise. Resume normal chlorination and pool operation. Swimmers may return when the chlorine residual is between 1.0-3.0 ppm.

To compensate for the loss of the product due to backwashing and/or splash-out, add one quart per 20,000 gallons of pool water, once a month.
